MEET SUSAN ELLIS, MS, LPC

Change happens

I was nineteen years old when I stepped into a therapist's office for the first time. I was frustrated that my life wasn't turning out the way I always thought it should be.  I was tired of making mistakes and wanted to feel like I had control of my life.  Therapy helped me do that and it can help you as well.

I believe that you have to accept and love yourself the way that you are.  I am straightforward and tend to tell my clients like it is.  I believe in focusing on the strengths you have over a diagnosis.  I believe you have the power to change.  I believe the world can be a kinder place.  I believe that therapy is an investment in yourself!

If you’re looking for a more clinical answer, I favor cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, mindfulness, and strengths-based counseling.  Counseling is not just a quick fix to feel better.   The most rewarding change comes when you are willing to explore patterns that began long ago to get to the bottom of an issue.
